Axes, Arrows, and Knives--Oh, My!

It's axe-throwing time!  Bojojr is eager for his turn, but the booth operator holds him off by telling him it isn't safe for more than one person to throw at a time.

Mr. Bojo is very good at having the axe stick in the wood!

Bojojr teases his father unmercifully for pulling to the left, but Bojoette is feeling as if the red handled ax got a little too close for comfort.

She starts to leave but the booth operator calls her a sissy, and she steps back into place.

When the booth operator becomes distracted, both Mr. Bojo and Bojojr go for it together.  Look how Bojojr puts his back into it!

Thunk, thunk!  Such a satisfying sound.

All's well that ends well!

For their expertise in axe throwing, both Bojojr and his father were awarded stickers stating they were Axe Throwing Champions.  I feel assured that if our family needed to prove ourselves in axe throwing, the fellows would do us proud.

(No Bojoettes were harmed in the making of this post.  She did pose for photos, but she was well out of the way by the time axes were thrown.  The rest was accomplished by Photoshop and my warped sense of humor.  I felt nervous having her behind the counter even with the cessation of axe throwing, as knife and star tossing were adjacent.  Not to mention the bows and arrows nearby.  Ren Fest loves their weapons!)

Very cleverly, too!

Thank you kindly!

I sometimes wonder if someone is going to report me to the Prim and Proper Society and have me hauled away...

Great job with the photoshop. For a moment, I was really worried that you'd lost your mind to take such a risk.

[identity profile] bojojoti.livejournal.com 2010-10-23 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Never! I don't mind the kids participating in activities with risks involved such as ziplining, scuba diving, and other sports where they use the safety equipment and take the proper precautions, but I would never want them to take stupid risks with their lives. We were just discussing climbing Mount Everest and how one in four (if that figure is accurate) climbers dies on the way. That is an unacceptable risk, and they agree.

LOL! That's too funny. You had me going for a second there.

Possible death and dismemberment is always good for a chuckle (except for those people who think I'm demented and are backing away from the computer!).

You really had me believing you!

Shame on me!

[identity profile] bluiidmommy.livejournal.com 2010-10-23 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Glad to hear it was photoshopped! I was having a hard time reconciling the Bojojoti I know with the one who allows her daughter to have axes thrown at her!

[identity profile] bojojoti.livejournal.com 2010-10-23 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Never! I try not to coddle my children, but I would never purposely expose them to danger!

[identity profile] snofox.livejournal.com 2010-10-23 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I was like that too!

Incredulous. Like "there's got to be some kind of catch" not just that yuo would let her do it but I couldn't imagine her wanting to do it!!!

I was so glad to see you'd been clever and naughty rather than Bojoette going through that.

Cheeky!!! (Yes, I know... it's something I would do too ;))

[identity profile] bojojoti.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely not something I would have allowed! Can't have those precious skinny arms whacked off.

It was just so tempting after I started looking at the photos...

You got me!

I want to go to a Ren Faire like that! The last one I went to was OK, but I'm fairly certain there wasn't axe throwing.

There were all sorts of opportunities to harm one's self! There was axe, knife, and star throwing and archery. And you could have taken your dog, too. Cats and dogs are welcome at the festival. We saw a mastiff, a young one, that might have made Smokey feel petite!

You are a sick woman. Thank you for being that. You made my day.

I'm thinking that half my friends' list is going to defriend me, and the other half is just going to back away slowly!

I'm glad you won't run from the the odd and ooky!

I wouldn't use this post to try to convince people otherwise!

Those photos were really funny - and I adore her Pink tshirt!

A bit of Halloween humor early!

[identity profile] jazzyglo.livejournal.com 2010-10-26 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Whew! I'm so relieved. I kept thinking there was no way you'd allow axes to be thrown at your little girl. I'm so happy that I was right. Good Photoshopping! :-)

There is no way! And there is no way her father would have allowed it! Even as much as her brother enjoyed teasing her growing up, he would never think of letting such a thing happen. He is very protective of his sister.
